Time for some Friday linkage! Sadly, I cannot herald the beginning of another three-day weekend. If only…
- We begin, as always, with punny pet names: Bryan Waggams, Jon Bone Jovi, Richard Barx, and Madogga.
- On a related note, have you ever wondered what your favorite ’80s band says about you? (I kind of hope that one of you is a huge fan of Richard Marx or The Smiths. Mine wasn’t quite as funny – I’m a big REM fan.)
- Speaking of music, artist James Walker does some pretty cool stuff about subjects ranging from border collies to punk rock.
- Up next, a rockstar dog: Harbor the Coonhound was just awarded the Guiness World Record for having the longest ears.
- Maybe having a cone of shame is cool now… at least that’s what I have to conclude Dexter thought when creating his own, MacGyver-style.
- Apparently Bella’s sock addiction is in no way unique.
- Puppies in sweaters. I die.
- In slightly creepy/unconventional news… would your lap dog like a substitute lap when you’re not available?
- I think a palette cleanser is needed after that last link… sometimes, you just have to share the pretty.
Finally, this week’s video. If you went to middle school with this cat, he would totally take your lunch money. And then stuff you in a locker.

Looking for something to do this weekend? If you’re in the DC metro area, consider checking out the Third Annual Doggie Day Swim tomorrow afternoon or swinging by a happy hour to support the Homeless Animals Rescue Team (HART) tomorrow night.
Well, I once stuck some tweezers in a live electrical outlet just to see what would happen (I got shocked and flames shot out, a little). Guess that explains why I liked Whitesnake (who was not on the list) so much. BTW – I really did do that and I swear I saw Whitesnake in concert (with The Outfield) – it rocked. π
The cat video totally made me cry.
It figures you like R.E.M. Isn't that an acronym for Rapid Eye Muttment?
Weird buncha links (except for Carrie's Bunny pics with the flowers). Well, maybe not so weird. I'm probably still creeped out by the lap. That's the kind of thing my husband is taking about when he says he's gotta find a way to make money off of crazy dog people.
I think it's a riot that Elizabeth was a Whitesnake fan. My sister loved them too. Judas Priest fan that I was looked down on her terribly. π
Thanks for visiting our bloggie and getting us to come watch that video…Cats are like that! Kind of 'pig tail pullers'…but with a shake of the head, the boxed cat just 'gets over it' and doesn't hold a grudge…
I loved that video, I am surprised that hasn't happened to me! Happy Mo Cats Day!
Dawww sweater puppies!
Cute kitty video, thanks!
That video was terrific. Glad that cat got out of there. Too funny. Have a great week end.
Elizabeth – I can't believe Whitesnake isn't on the list. That's a glaring omission!
Pamela – Apparently I was in a weird mood today… I blame the lap thing.
Teri – I could totally see my childhood cat doing the same thing.
Wait a minute! I'm sure my bedroom doesn't smell like Midori! That list was hilarious! Then that lap thing creeped me out. And hey, I think I know that dog in the last link! I wasn't expecting that, and it totally cracked me up. π
Have I mentioned lately how much I love your Friday posts? I have no idea where you find all this stuff, but I'm glad that you do!
Thanks for the linky love to Dexter's pic! And just 'cause Erasure was my favorite 80's band DOES NOT mean that I have a copy of Le Petit Prince OR that I have kissed it π
BTW – did you hear me squeeing? Those puppies in sweaters were awesome sauce!
Love that cat video!
I'm just glad I'm too big for my cat to do that to ME!
And just like high school, the adults in the room did NOTHING to save the one being bullied!
No words for the dog lap. None. Not going there.
houndstooth – Thank you… I'm glad that my Friday randomness provides some entertainment. (And I'm still cracking up about the Midori thing.)
Karen – I know! Those puppies in sweaters were almost too cute to handle.
Mel – I do worry about that! I have a feeling I'll have to retire the feature one of these days (though I think I can keep it going for a while)… even now I'm worried I'll be repeating myself so I have to check to make sure I didn't already use one.
Life Student – I know… poor cat!
