Bella’s never been one to spend hours snuggling with her humans. However, she used to enjoy hopping up on the couch, planting herself between her people, and falling asleep. We’d often find her on the couch by herself, napping away. When Tavish joined the family, they’d jump on the couch together (never quite touching, of course).
In the past few months, that has all changed. I don’t know if it’s that she’s lost some strength in her legs, if she’s getting grumpy in her old age, or something else. However, my little Bella seems to prefer her dog beds to the couch these days (or taking a nap under my feet but not on the couch).
Occasionally, I like to pick her up and put her on the couch just to see what happens. Sometimes, she hops right down and obviously has no interest. However, on Monday, I scooped her up and the following scene unfolded…
Hmmm… maybe this isn’t so bad.
Ah, I remember this…
She napped for a while (and the little dude even joined us)… and then Tavish barked at something, so she left the couch to investigate. That was that. It was just like old times for one peaceful and wonderful hour. I wish it could have lasted longer.

When it’s warm in our bedroom Sampson will jump down off the bed and I totally hate it (even though I am more comfortable.) 🙂 I hate that they are aging so much faster than I am and want as much snuggle time as I can get!

Awww – cute photos. I like how they’re captioned already! Moses doesn’t care for the furniture, but Alma seems to have a new fondness for the couch. She’s not very fun to share a couch with, though. She’s huge and restless and wants to lick you all the time while digging her elbow into your bladder. It doesn’t look nearly as content.

Of course we know that our dogs are on guard even when they look like they are sleeping soundly.

Such sweet photos…and I love your captions too. Our dogs seem to go in spells….the couch will be their favorite, then it will be one of the dog beds, or on the floor somewhere. They seem to switch it up every so often!

Lol.. my Siberian husky is totally the opposite would make that cute puppy face until and unless i bring him on the bed alongside me after dinner and after 5-10 min he would quietly doze off .
