Tavish makes his debut as a film star, with an assist from Bella…
We tend to rate Tavish’s energy level on any given day using a sliding scale of Tavishes. One Tavish is pretty energetic. On occasion, I’ve rated him at about fifteen Tavishes. So, it should come as no surprise that he’s making sure we keep moving this month. He’s like an adorable drill sergeant.
Are you participating in K9 Kamp this month? How’s it going for you?
As I mentioned, we’ve been doing a lot of walking for this year’s K9 Kamp. Tavish and I have been supplementing these walks with some fetch and games of tug (with an occasional assist from Bella).

There are a lot of benefits to walking the dog, but I’ve come to realize that whether these walks are actually a good workout depends on which dog I’m walking.
Tavish is a speed walker. He’ll stop to sniff something occasionally, but he prefers to walk with all deliberate speed. Bella, on the other hand, prefers a leisurely stroll.
When the two of them are together, things proceed fine for the first few minutes.
Then, Bella starts to slow down, both to sniff things and because she gets tired more easily. She also tends to walk in a zigzag pattern rather than a straight line. If she ends up in front of Tavish, he acts like an impatient driver in traffic, trying to get around the slow-moving vehicle that’s inexplicably hanging out in the fast lane.

Needless to say, walks with Tavish are much more of a workout than ones involving the Bellaface.
It’s that time again… K9 Kamp is here! This year marks my third time as a featured blogger for K9 Kamp, but this year I have the chance to change things up a little bit. I’ll get to that in a moment… Continue reading →

I thought you might enjoy a video of Bella and the boys in action… yesterday, Tavish and Roscoe decided that a game of bitey face was in order. Bella seemed a bit puzzled regarding what to do with her rowdy little brothers (well, except for when she was doing this). Check it out after the jump… Continue reading →
Well, it’s finally happening. I set a goal for myself in January – to move the blog to a self-hosted WordPress site by June. June is right around the corner… and thanks to my tech-savvy hubby, I will be making the move this weekend!
So, if all goes well, you’ll be able to find me at www.wantmorepuppies.com, starting this weekend. (If you go there now, it’s very much a work in progress. Patience, grasshopper.) In theory, this site will redirect you to the new one once it’s ready to go, but I wanted to give you the new address just in case.
My fingers are crossed that all of my posts (and especially your awesome comments) survive the move intact. If you’re a feed subscriber, the plan is to transition without disrupting your subscription – I’m all out of fingers, so I’ll cross my toes on that one.
There will be more changes to come, as I play with design elements and the like – so I hope you’ll bear with me once we make the move!
Due to the move, there will be no Friday linkage this week. I’ll make it up to you soon. Until then, enjoy this video documenting Bella’s contribution to the move…
I was obviously going for a play on White Men Can’t Jump, but I don’t think it worked that well. Technically, I should have called this post “this brown and white dog can’t jump” – however, that seemed even less catchy.
Anyway, I’ve mentioned that Bella doesn’t know how to catch. She must have missed the day in dog school where they taught that one. She tries to catch things with her paws instead of with her mouth. It’s adorable, but ineffective.
I told you I take requests… so, today I present with “Bella the Snowdog.” (Hat tip to Pamela from Something Wagging for the suggestion.)
But first… a bonus video from 2010. (We don’t have snow yet this year, and that’s fine by me!)
Bella the Snowdog
Bella the Snowdog, is a silly, happy pup.
With gigantic ears and a big black nose,
and a tail that’s always up.
Bella the Snowdog is a lazy dog they say,
Sometimes she runs around, but it’s pretty clear
that she likes to snooze all day.
There must be cozy blankets in that doggie bed she found.
For when she goes to take a nap, she doesn’t move around.
O, Bella the Snowdog,
dreams of chasing squirrels up trees.
When she dreams, she runs and barks and plays,
Happy to snooze the day away.
Before I go, I wanted to let you know that there’s still time to enter the Social Media for Social Good giveaway… today, the chance to earn entries through Google+ goes live. I’ve included the Rafflecopter after the jump if you’re interested.
(If you haven’t entered via Twitter or Facebook yet, you can still do so. For Facebook, click here. For Twitter, click here.) Good luck!
