It’s finally here… the Magical Mystery Mutt Tour! Make sure you also visit my co-hosts Edie (of Will My Dog Hate Me) and Peggy (of Peggy’s Pet Place) today and say hi. Read on, and then join the hop!
Now, time for everyone’s favorite game: Name… That… Breed! Below, I’ve provided some info about the dog behind the blog, Ms. Bella. What breed(s) do you think she is? Leave your best guesses in the comments.
Bella – a dog of very little brain, but a lot of love. I tend to think she’s a bit out of proportion – low to the ground, but in possession of big ears and an even bigger posterior. (Seriously… when she sits, her butt is so big that one of her feet often sticks up in the air.)
She weighs approximately 26 pounds and is roughly 24 inches tall (from her toes to the top of her head). Health quirks? She’s got a few. You’ll frequently hear her reverse sneeze, she gets carsick like a champ, and she gets more than her fair share of ear infections. In addition, she was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism.
I’ve never heard her howl. She barks on occasion, mostly at doorbells (including TV doorbells and the chime at the vet’s office). She has crazy bursts of energy, but they usually flame out fast. She loves to cuddle, but hates being under a blanket. She does like to sleep under pieces of furniture, however. She hops through the snow like a bunny and loves to run around in the backyard.
Finally, a few photos:
For more photos, well… there’s obviously no Bella shortage on this blog. Let the guessing begin!
Have a mutt? We’d love for you to join the tour! It’s simple:

(Include on your blog a few pictures of your dog, and specific details to help everyone guess.)
2. Grab our Magical Mystery Mutt Tour Blog Hop Badge and include on your post! (optional)
3. Follow your co-hosts (listed above) and comment on their blogs to let us know you’ve joined the hop!
4. Check out as many of the other blogs on the Linky as you’d like, and guess away!
If you want to put the Linky Tool on your own post, you can get the code on Edie’s blog.
Can’t wait to see your mystery mutt!
I'm guessing Jack Russel, maybe some beagle or basset and maybe some Corgi
am very bad with placing breeds. I do see some beagle and maybe jack russell though…
My guess would be Jack Russell and Corgi. 🙂 Whatever she is, she's adorable!
I'm with LuLu and Wally: Jack Russel and Corgi. Bella is as her name says–beautiful!
Thanks for hosting and hope to see you at the Super Dog Sunday Photo Blog Hop this weekend.
I love reading these guesses!
Pamela – maybe she is a dust bunny. 🙂
Carrie – we'll be there!
I'm going to say based on the first picture that there is definite Corgi – my mom's Welsh Cardigan Corgi sits like that with his feet stretched out back and has a very large posterior. I'm going to add Beagle and Jack Russel to the mix as well. I'm always late to the party and wish I had time to get a post for Spike and Dru to add to this. I would love to know what people think they are.
I believe the blog hop link is open until Monday… so you still have time to play! 🙂
Definitely see Jack Russell. Maybe beagle? If she hops like a bunny, then she's just right for joining the blog hop!
I'm guessing Jack Russell and Rat Terrier. But very cute dog anyway.
I can't get the linky to work on my Typepad blog. Any suggestions?
Jack Russell and corgi would be my guess… both are intelligent breeds but VERY opposite types of smarts so that could leave you with a dog that appears to be not super bright 🙂
Jack Russell gets my vote too– beagle body? Maybe that, maybe Corgi. But what a CUTE face!!! I'd never stop kissing that nose!
Hmm…I'm guessing Jack Russell, too, and maybe Beagle but I'm wondering if there's something with a blockier body in there, too…maybe AmStaff? He's definitely a sweetie with those cute eyes!
I think her head is a Jack Russell and well the rest…she's just such a Happy Bunny! I'm really terrible at trying to pin point breeds, but looking again and reading others, there might just be a bit of Corgi? What the hec…she's a beauty 🙂
I have to go with the majority here. Front half Parsons Russell terrier (since they changed the name) and, sorry baby, you have a Corgi butt.
Nothing wrong with a cute butt.
And I love the ruff collar you wear.
The fur one, althought the red/white is stylin' too.
Bella, you are a thinker. People just may not understand you. Hugs.
I know there must be JRT in her somewhere, but as for what else, my first thought was Corgi. So I am going to trust my instincts and stick with that. I may have said beagle but if she doesn't howl…
She is adorable all the way! Isn't that all that matters?
I wanna say that she might have one of the long and short breeds like a corgi, dachshund or beagle. I think I might go for beagle though! Jack russlle or rat terrior.. What ever she may be she is 100% adorable.
Oops! It must have been a problem with my computer, but the Linky Tool didn't appear on any of your blogs…until just now! My bad!
I'm guessing Jack Russell and Corgi!
I'm awful with breeds, sorry… I can recognise Pekingese and I can tell Bella isn't one 😀
But she is a pretty dog.
I'm thinking of also entering the hop with Aschiuta… Thanks for the idea!
Love, love, love those expressive eyes. Miss Bella is a beauty! My guesses re: her lineage…Rat terrier, Chihuahua, Corgi (that butt just makes me smile), JRT and perhaps Beagle.
She reminds me of my sister's dog, except my sister's dog is black and white, but body wise they are the same. She says she is definitely beagle and something else…but we just can't put our finger on it!
I love her ears, it looks like she moves them around a lot (Kirby and I call that intelligence!)
Kirby's mom
I think JRT is in there for sure! What a cutie pie!
Maybe Corgi and Beagle? I have no idea! Maybe some Jack Russel.
I really do think she has some corgi in her.
Oh this looks like so much fun! I was thinking of doing guessing game (maybe my first give away) on my 100th post. Let me know if you ever revive this hop 🙂
Poochie Project recently posted..Oh, oh my… Facebook leaves me speechless sometimes
