So, the move is complete (thanks to the hard work of my very patient husband). Welcome to the new home of I Still Want More Puppies! I have a few more modifications in the works, but the basics are all in place. What do you think? (Suggestions welcome… if you have any WordPress tips or great plugin recommendations, I’m all ears!)
I also wanted to post something this evening to make sure the feed was working correctly. If you’re a feed subscriber stopping by and don’t see this post in your feed, please let me know!
I’ll be back to regular posting tomorrow… thanks for your patience!
Woo hoooooo! That is awesome! Way to go you! I need to move too, but frankly, I’m scared out of my WITS about it. WordPress scares the Woof out of me.
Thanks! It scared me too, honestly… I’m still scared a little bit!
I am so glad I am not the only one.
AWESOME!
Congrats! Hooray for patient husbands!
Isn’t that the truth?
I think you’ll love it! Sexy Bookmarks is a plug in that I really like. It lets people post links to your blog on a variety of other places.
Thanks for the recommendation! π
Looks very nice!!!
Hi Looking Good!
Best wishes Molly
When I read you were moving your blog I was afraid it would disappear from my reading list. It did NOT! π Looks great!
Whew… I’m glad that the feed transferred correctly. I was hoping I did it right!
Congrats on the move – it looks great!
Nice! Congratulations! I really like CommentLuv; it’s a way of giving people instant karma for commenting on your blog.
I had forgotten about CommentLuv – I really like it on your blog. π
CommentLuv?
It’s the one on Edie’s site that pulls the commenter’s recent post and links to it under the comment. π
Welcome to WordPress! It looks good! I love the different plugins you can use. Some of the ones I use are Akismet (for spam), Popular Posts, WordPress Database Backups, WordPress SEO, WordPress Editorial Calendar and WordPress.com Stats.
Thanks! I will check those out. π
You look marvelous! π
looks great!!! There is one thing you need though…many of us don’t have time to go to readers or blog rolls to keep up with blogs.
The thing that I did (and many others are doing) is offering a subscribe by email option…that makes it soooo much easier! Your posts are delivered via email and people ALWAYS read their emails so it is right in their faces…relying on RSS or other readers doesn’t cut it anymore. People don’t have time. That is my suggestion! Otherwise, great job!
Have to agree. I miss a lot of blogs because they don’t have this option. It allows me to read their posts on the bus or train in the morning and on the way home. I would LOVE to subscribe!
Thank you, Caren! I can’t believe I forgot all about the email option. I just added a box to the top right – thank you for reminding me! π
Holy cow AJ! This looks awesome! You’ve made the leap I have been terrified of making. Honestly, how was it?
I am so impressed!
Honestly, it was a bit daunting. Thank goodness my husband handled most of the technical stuff – I don’t think I would have had the patience for that, nor would I have had any idea what I was doing! So with him handling that, I was mostly focused on appearance and design. It was a bit overwhelming, and definitely still a work in progress.
On the technical side of things, I did lose some comments because the importing tool didn’t bring them all over. And a few posts as well – although those are still available on my Blogger dashboard, so the hubby is going to try again or I might just move them manually. It’s still a work in progress.
Very nice! And my google reader is still getting your feed without interruption, so yay!
Whew! At least I managed to do that right. π
The new site looks fantastic! You did such a great job. The colours are so bright and clean. I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to come by sooner! Congratulations on the big move! WordPress isn’t so bad, is it? π
It looks great!! Congrats on the move.
Thanks, guys!
