As I recently mentioned, I’m well behind on my monthly roundups. However, let’s just consider this belated October installment an early Christmas gift. (By that logic, I’m actually ahead of the game.)
Anyway, I believe that Buddy the Elf would totally support me sharing these posts guaranteed to make you smile. Enjoy. If you need me, I’ll be enjoying selections from the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup. Continue reading →
Do your dogs kiss each other? I ask, because apparently mine do.
Well, one of them does. The other one just looks puzzled.
I shall keeeessss you!
I’ve read that this licking behavior might be a sign of affection. I hope that’s the case, because that’s a pretty nice idea.
On the other hand, Tavish licks everything that moves, so maybe Bella just ends up in the right place at the right time. On the other other hand, Bella licks everything too, but she doesn’t usually lick Tavish. How do your dogs show affection?

I’m in the process of creating my holiday card this year – wrangling two dogs is much more difficult than one! This year, the pups will be rocking some sweaters, so stay tuned for the final card as well as some outtakes. Until then, enjoy these penguins, cats, and dogs wearing sweaters.
Speaking of penguins… hop, hop, hop! I could watch them all day.
Have you decorated yet? We haven’t put up our tree yet – I wonder what Tavish will think of his first Christmas with us. Maybe he will take a hint from Bo.
Ah, the holidays. Although I love the holidays, I don’t like snow. Watching this adorable guy makes me hate it just a little less, however.
I have some fun holiday news for you – starting tomorrow, you’ll have the chance to win some great prizes. It’s the Advent Calendar for Dog Lovers, and I’m thrilled to be joining Kol’s Notes for such a cool event.
Given that I was kind of on a penguin kick today, this video seemed the perfect choice:
Can you believe it will be December tomorrow? Time flies when you’re making puns!
Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, it’s okay to start posting about Christmas, right? I’m not going to lie – it’s one of my favorite times of the year.
Today, I was thinking about challenges and how sometimes wonderful things don’t just happen – that sometimes you have to help them along. (I think Bella and Tavish take this approach to meals – why wait for me to prepare dinner when you can speed things along by doing a food dance? Lucky me – dinner and a show!)
Anyway, it seems like the perfect day to share a song from one of my favorite Christmas specials. Such wise cartoons we had back in the day…
Talk about a lesson I wish I could remember all year long – whether it’s a change in my own life or something I could do to help someone else’s miracle along, it’s all about action. Just watching the world go by isn’t enough. After all, as a famous man once said, “If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change.” I’m trying, tiny mice, I’m trying…
Also, it’s time to talk about holiday specials again – what are your favorites? You know I love any reason to stroll down Memory Lane. I should really just buy a house there.
Today’s mischief is all mine, not the dog’s… I confess that I’m far behind in sharing my monthly post roundups. Today, I’m bringing you the best from September… these posts are guaranteed to put a smile on your face: Continue reading →
I’ve got Friends on the brain today. Why? Well, I meant to do a post about Thanksgiving TV specials, but I didn’t get it up in time. I did make sure to get in my traditional viewing of the Garfield and Peanuts specials yesterday, and I started thinking about other Thanksgiving TV. I’ve always really enjoyed all of the Friends Thanksgiving episodes. Thus, today’s theme was born…
First up, your punny pet name: Phoebe Ruffay.
The Internet was not helping me out with many Friends-related puns, so this one will have to do. (The name of the show is just too darn generic.)
Speaking of TV-related puns, this one gave me the giggles.
…for having dogs in my life and for growing up in a family that taught me to love animals. For me, it’s just not a home without a furry friend.
…that I’ve had ten years with my wonderful Bella. It’s been a fantastic decade.
…that Tavish joined our family this year. He and Bella have been getting along famously. One of these days, I’ll convince them to snuggle with each other.
…that I have found such a wonderful community of dog lovers. You guys rock.
